Event, Presentation, Outfits, ect. 2019
I was the Recruitment Director of my sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta. The theme I choose for that year was Be Bold, Be Gold. To me, it means that we strive to embrace our inner leading women and to take risks even though it may be scary. To be bold is to not be afraid of standing out and to be gold is to be the best version of yourself. Throughout the entire planning process I kept this theme in mind, I developed a color scheme and followed our brand guidelines from headquarters. I not only planned the outfits, designed the shirts, crafted the name tags by hand, directed the set up of the event, formulated and executed the presentations, and gathered footage for the video, but also taught the girls extensively how to recruit. It was truly an honor to be someone my chapter looked up to and apply my love for design and branding.
I tried to make it interactive and have the girls truly get to know Theta. The leading women wall allowed the girls of our chapter to share why they believe they are a leading women, and then I asked the girls going through recruitment to think about how they themselves are leading women as well. On Philanthropy Day, the girls wrote notes together to stuff into teddy bears that I then donated to our local SF CASA chapter, an organization that stands up for abused and neglected children, so that they could read words of encouragement and have a friend to cuddle with!
